You use the pull buoy as a leg float during swimming training so that you can effectively train your arm muscles and improve your swimming stroke technique. You place the pull buoy between your thighs and clamp it securely between your legs. This keeps your legs afloat bringing you into a horizontal position. Because the legs are blocked they can no longer generate propulsion and you swim using only your arms.
