Ganesh With Implements - 8x7cm

a colourful ganesh statuette made from resin. In his upper left arm this ganesh holds a goad (ankusha) used to remove obstacles and guide the direction of the devotee. In his upper right arm he holds a noose (pasha) that symbolises the power to control one's desires. The lower right hand is in the abhaya mudra a gesture of protection and blessing indicating reassurance and the removal of fear while the ganesh rests comfortably with the lower left hand on a cushion. near the left knee ganesh is accompanied by a mouse - the vehicle (vahana) of lord ganesh. This humble appearance symbolises his willingness to come to the aid of even the smallest and most seemingly insignificant beings and shows his mastery over ego and mind.
