white tara (drolma in tibetan) is a female manifestation of enlightened energy; she is very popular in tibetan buddhism. There are 21 manifestations of tara; the most important are white tara and green tara. Typical for her manifestation are the seven eyes in head palms and soles and she is sitting in a perfect lotus position. In her left hand she is holding the stem of a white lotus. Reciting a white tara mantra has a healing effect on diseases of body and mind. The mantra is: om tare tutare ture mama ayur punye gyana pushtin kuruye soha.
