Finis iso paddles are hand paddles without straps or bands designed to isolate movements to train specific muscle groups develop good hand position and increase awareness of your swimming stroke. The iso hand paddles are designed to unbalance you during the catch phase of a swimming stroke. The catch phase follows the entry phase and is the phase where you take hold of the water. This forces swimmers to apply more pressure to both sides of the hand paddles to maintain a good swimming stroke. The hand paddles encourage swimmers to pay more attention to the position of the hand in the water during the entry catch and pull phases of the stroke. The hand paddles will stay securely in place once you have mastered the correct swimming technique. The hand paddles are therefore ideal for training stroke improvement and developing a feel for the water. This allows swimmers to improve their swimming stroke and technique and increases swimming stroke awareness. The iso hand paddles can be used for breaststroke compound backstroke front crawl and butterfly. You can use the hand paddles in two ways: you can wear them on the left or right or reversed. We call this outside isolation and inside isolation. The way you wear the hand paddles determines which specific muscles you can train and which particular phase of the swimming stroke.
